1940's |
The late E.C.(Bill) Brisco, OLS, P, ENG was the first original land surveyor, hired by Imperial Oil in the 1940's to conduct land surveys for applications to be submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources for drilling oil or gas and disposal wells in Ontario. For the Department of Highways, Bill surveyed the 401.

1950's |
Upon returning to Chatham, Bill joined the surveying firm, McCubbin, (which later became McCubbin, Brisco & Todgham), who were leaders in drainage engineering.
He specialized in drainage engineering and sat as the engineer on the Ontario drainage tribunal for many years. His work in this field advanced farming throughout Ontario.Imperial Oil sought Bill's expertise and hired him to be its surveyor for all of Ontario.
Imperial Oil had Bill follow the stringent standards for surveying that had been developed in the west. He, in turn, played a major role in developing the industry standards for Ontario and introducing many technological advancements to the industry. |

1960's |
Tim O'Rourke joined the firm and developed areas of expertise in oil and gas as well as drainage. |

1970's |
Tim became the President of E. C. Brisco Ltd. and assumed responsibility for all administration of the company. Tim's promotion allowed Bill to focus on providing the highest quality surveying services. |

1980's |
E. C. Brisco Ltd. embraced digital technology in the field and in the office. Electronic measurement instruments are introduced in the field and desktop computers are introduced in the office. |

1990's |
E. C. Brisco Ltd. was one of the first independent surveying firms to make extensive use of the Global Positioning System as a regular part of its services. |

2000's |
Today, Brisco & O'Rourke continues to grow using the latest developments in digital technology and equipment. |
